The Guelph Enabling Garden, an accessible and inclusive public garden space, has received a $24,000 grant from the WindsorEssex Community Foundation to support its ongoing horticultural therapy and community programming.

The Guelph Enabling Garden is supported by the Government of Canada’s Healthy Communities Initiative.

“We are so grateful to receive this important grant from the WindsorEssex Community Foundation,” says D. Trevor Barton, Chair of the Guelph Enabling Garden Board.

“Returning from a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we are experiencing an increase in demand for more in-person free HT workshops, teaching opportunities, and group craft/gardening sessions. This funding will help us develop and increase programming open to all community members including seniors, newcomers, students, and people experiencing physical, mental, societal, or financial barriers.”
