This year marked the 13th season of the Guild’s weekly storytelling events after having to cancel the 2020 season due to the pandemic and I am so pleased that the Garden was able to present this amazing group of talent this year.

As I reflect back on 2021, I would like to take this public opportunity to thank the Guelph Guild of Storytellers and Guests for their amazing contributions to our first foray into the online world with our VirtualiTea ‘N’ Tales which zoomed out each Friday morning from June 25th to September 3rd to an audience of up to 50 on any given day. The season was hosted by the stalwart Brian Holstein supported by technical expertise from Garden Board member Teghan Barton and social media from Garden Board member Valerie Chong.

This year’s exceptional and entertaining tellers have ranged from local singer songwriter/politico James Gordon with Brian doing double duty as a teller; Heather Whaley & JennyQ; the team of Judy & Paul Caulfield; Brad Woods & Mariella Bertelli;  Lynn Torrie & Donna McCaw; Sarah Abusarar & Susan Boucaud; mother and daughter Beve & Elizabeth Matson; Jay Wilson & Anna Kurz; Rusty Dougherty & Norman Perrin; Don Connibear & June Brown and Brian Holstein and Sya VanGeest as the bookends who rounded out this amazing season.

On behalf of the Guelph Enabling Garden,  I offer a heartfelt thank you to our faithful audience for listening each Friday and I am optimistic that we will all meet again in person for the 2022 season at the Guelph Enabling Garden located within the historic Riverside Park, Guelph.

Trevor Barton, Chair of the Board
